An emphatic victory at the home of the Blades Academy saw the Silkmens u19 ‘A team’ finish the Northern Section group L in top spot.
The Silkmen travelled across the Peak District knowing that 3 points would see them reach the knockout stages in January.
The game got off to the perfect start when in 8 minutes Trevor kyobe finished from close range capping off some early dominance from the Silkmen. 0-1.
With the hosts never really getting a foothold in the game it was the Silkmen who soon doubled their lead, with good build-up play on the left-hand side, saw the ball squared to Ramani Manning who calmly took a touch out of his feet and slammed the ball into the bottom corner. 0-2 Halftime.
The blades fought in vain as the Silkmen youngsters dominated proceedings with constant attacks towards the hosts goal. This constant pressure ultimately brought about the third goal, as Liam Logan powered through the inside left position to slam a fierce shot into the roof of the net past the blades goalkeeper. 0-3.
United did manage to get a goal back with 8 minutes to play, after some slack defending allow the ball to be nudged home after a corner kick. 1-3.
But the goal of the game came with just 5 minutes left, as the Silkmens Tyler James unleashed an unstoppable volley, on the turn, high into the far corner of the blades goal. Which saw the lethal frontman increase his impressive tally of goals for the season.
