On Sunday, Macclesfield Town U21’s will host Winstanley Warriors U21’s at Platt Lane, Manchester in the North West Development League Premier Division
The last time the Silkmen played in the league was back in October, as they dismantled Stalybridge Celtic FC and ran out 4-1 winners at the leasing.com stadium.
Goals from Alistair Brown, Andi Kideri, Lamin Jagne, and Riche Makelele ensured another three points for the youngsters at the Moss Rose.
The U21 side have enjoyed an almost faultless start to their league campaign this season as they currently sit fourth in the table, having won all their games apart from one draw.
Winstanley Warriors are currently seventh in the league after only playing two games this season, winning one and losing the other. In their last outing, they suffered a 4-1 defeat against Witton Albion FC.
However, in their first fixture they traveled to Stockport Town and came out on top with a 3-1 victory, so this should be a good test for the young Silkmen side.
Macclesfield will be hoping they can pick up where they left off and secure another three points as they were in superb form before the national lockdown was announced.
Academy Head Coach, Paul McGuire, is looking forward to getting his team back out on the pitch and hopes they can hit the ground running, he said:
“We were in great form before the break as we’d won our last three in a row and hadn’t lost this season.”
“The lads are looking forward to playing again and hope we can continue our previous form.”
