After a tight group stage with a total of 21 goals scored over 12 matches we had our four semi finalists. In Group A it was Prestbury who came out on top winning all their games scoring six in the process. Runners up were Ivy Bank only loosing to prestbury in their games. In Group B Gawsworth finished first on seven points scoring two goals and runners up were St Johns the Evangelist on six points.
Both semi Finals ended in 1-0 victories. Prestbury defeating St Johns in a tight contest with chances for both teams. The other final Ivy Bank beating Gawsworth 1-0 in a close encounter.
We had our two finalists Prestbury Primary School and Ivy Bank. The two teams had met in the group stages and it was Prestbury won 1-0 so everyone expected it to be a close game. Ivy bank took the early lead in the 2nd minute but it only took one minute for Prestbury for draw level. Prestbury then scored two in quick succession which shocked Ivy Bank. Despite Ivy Bank pushing for a goal to get them selves back into the game they couldn’t quite do it and Prestbury held on to win the tournament and progress to the next round of the tournament.
