First team duo visit Community Scheme camps
Thursday 16th & Friday 17th marked the start of the Community Schemes holiday camps which are running over August.
The community staff had children from the local area attend their camps looking after 40 participants over the two days. The days consisted of doing activities at the stadium and also going to Ash Grove Primary school to play different games and matches.

On Thursday afternoon the children had the opportunity to have their photo taken with the Vanarama National Trophy which put a smile on the faces of the children and parents alike.
On Friday the children had a special opportunity to have a Q&A with new signings Mile Welch-Hayes and Ben Stephens in the Mcllroy Suite. The children had thought out 1 or 2 questions to ask Mile and Ben. Some of the questions were tricky for the players to answer.

Ben Stephens said” “It’s been great to spend some time with the local children, I’m surprised with the level of questions we had, (laugh) we got a grilling!. I’m happy to do this anytime.”
It was a fantastic start to our holiday camps which continue next Thursday & Friday at the stadium!
Community Coach Josh Hawkes had this to say about the camps ” It’s been a fantastic first two days of our camps. It’s great to see some first-team players come down to support our camps, the children haven’t stopped talking about it all day. I’m very much looking forward to next weeks camps already”
