Community Update October 2018

Macclesfield Town Community Sports Trust

With half term only a week away, this is a great opportunity to give you an update on the work we’ve done so far.

Premier League Primary Stars:
So far we have been into two schools over a six week period, Bosley School and Whirley Primary School. These have been a great success, and we’ve had great feedback from these schools. We’re now looking forward to delivering to both year 4 and 5 classes at Marlborough Primary School and both year 5 and year 6 classes at Ivy Bank Primary School. This would mean that by Christmas we will have been and delivered Premier League Primary Stars to 10 different classes!

Macclesfield Football Academy:
At the time of writing this, MFA is yet to lose in their league and have been making great progress so far. You can catch up with MFA results and Fixtures on the Association of Colleges Website. A lot of these players will be playing in the FA Youth Cup for Jim Hall’s U18 side, so this is a side to watch out for!

After School Activities:
All our after school clubs have made great starts so far, with many prizes being handed out for our players of the day’s, such as free MTFC tickets. Which have gone down well and we continue to see an increase in young supporters in the MTFC crowd.

October Half Term:
We are running an Autumn Sports Camp this October/November on Monday 29th, Tuesday 30th, Thursday 1st November and Friday 2nd. It’s £20 per day with a 20% sibling discount. It will run from 10 am until 3:30 pm based in the McIlroy Suite situated on Moss Lane. We will be running a camp on Wednesday 31st at The Tytherington for their members but if you cannot make it to Tythertington, why not come down to the club for a club tour from club legend Danny Whitaker and a great insight to the club from Media Manager Bob Trafford.
