Carehome Update 2017

Care home Update

The care home project’s grown year on year thanks to renewed grant funding via various partners such at The National League Trust, Adelphi and Cheshire East Council. We currently have 5 homes which we regularly attend. We currently attend:

  • Parkmount
  • Woodend
  • Weston park
  • Lisburn Court
  • Welcoft Carehome

At these sessions we work with over 100 participants of different abilities and they all participate in the sessions! We work with people who have disabilities, dementia and also people who are just in for rest bite!

This is a place based activity which forms part of our Residents First Programme. All the sessions are based around hand eye co-ordination games whilst sat down in their arm chairs often known as M.A.G.I.C. Residents First Programme allows the Trust to specifically choose certain homes for free sessions with the aim to create a heightened sense of enjoyment and confidence to join in some physical activities.

The Trust measures the impact of such sessions through, centre managers feedback qualitative feedback and general observations.

Josh and his colleagues have been coming to Parkmount care home for 6 years and the residents love their company. They make sure that all residents are involved and never leave anyone out. The activities are good and appropriate for the residents to take part. They are always positive and don’t make the residents feel bad about themselves if they are unable to complete a task.
